I am getting Mac LC III

When you say "get it online" what do you expect to do? It won't be able to visit any modern web pages, either becuase of HTTPS encryption or the scripting will not be supported by any browsers it can run. At BEST you'll be able to set it up with POP3 e-mail.

Easiest solution to get it online is an LC PDS ethernet card. The one above should do the trick. Lucky for you, the LC version of these ethernet cards are dirt cheap. Nothing like the $100+ versions for the SE/30.

Now I can get IRC on my LC III woohoo and FTP woohoo!!
People might find this funny, but I do still use a Q700 when I get bored for my back-end programming/scripting on my webserver. I temporarily enable the legacy FTP protocol so I can get in, and edit all my PHP Scripts from there. Otherwise my FTP stays on FTPS and SFTP enforce with modern ciphers.
I dont do any modern HTML code from that machine, but I do all my back-end/database PHP Scripting with it. ;-)
Other than using it as a mundane word processor, thats about the only modern task I can do with it.

That is not true these machine are not garbage. IN fact..instead of damaging the environment let us recycle them and use them all in all-day to day usage you want to know how? These machine, especially the Mac LC III can be used in retail stores as cash machine computers. Write a good software for cashier and it will send signal to open the door when you get paid full and it prints out receipt instead of making new machines and have lock mechanism when you are done using it. Use these machines in computer labs to teach keyboarding, re-use them in school as you don't care what kids do them and use them for educational purposes. Use these machines hooked to projector and put it in the closet when done and use it to display slides and pictures.
Use these machines for kids to teach drawing. Use these machine for schools in entertainment room to play these games. You can even use it to for mp3 player as juke-box. No..it is not garbage. It is useful.
