Hyperdrive System Software Disk 2

Does anyone here have disk 2 for the Hyperdrive System Software?  I think it has the Backup, Security, and printer drivers.

I don't know what's on which disk, but I found some utilities, including Backup and Security, in the "Hyperdrive" folder on my new Hyperdrive. I made copies to 2 dsk images. Not sure how to attach them to a forum post though. PM me?

About printer drivers I'm not sure, but my Hyperdrive had some in its System Folder - do you know which ones you're looking for? They looked like ordinary printer drivers to me (ImageWriter, LaserWriter etc).

I used Norton Disk Recovery on the floppy.  It managed to repair the disk header before freezing when trying to access the floppy.  I'm not able to get any files off of it, though.  I took a screen shot:

GCC-Disk-2.gif

Also, looking at the addendum in the box, it says that this is the new V2R1 version, which extends compatibility with Macintosh Plus computers.

Ah, I'm afraid my files are all pre-MacPlus (being on an un-upgraded 512K system). Do you still want them?

Thanks for the screenshot! I am always interested to know what original disks looked like.

Shucks.  I'll wait to see what the guys at GCC say.  Maybe this is all moot if we can get a copy of their old FTP site.

What system did you use? This screen shot was taken on a color Mac, possibly running 8 or 9.

I tried some Hyperdrive software with OS9 and it wouldn't work. Maybe system 3.2 will work?

I'm not trying to run it, just archive the disks.  It's a IIci.  It read disk 1 just fine, so I was able to archive it.  I suppose that's the most important disk because it actually has the software needed to use the Hyperdrive.  Disk 2 would also be nice because it has the utilities and printing software.  According to my addendum, V2R1 adds support for HFS and Macintosh Plus.

Given how relatively rare the Hyperdrive is, I wonder how many of those that are left are this version or later.

Hi everybody,

as I did a google search for the hyperdrive, i came across this threat. I recently got a cheap Macintosh 512k. The disk drive is not working and as I opened the case i found there is Hyperdrive and a 2 MB Ram extension attached. The Mac can boot off of a external floppy drive. The internal one is obviously broken. And without a floppy, it tries to boot from the harddrive resulting in a sad finder (0F0064). Unfortunately no floppies with hyperdrive drivers are available or can be found on the internet. Would someone be so nice and make an image of your system disk one or at least tell me a place to find them.

Thanks in advance.

Bye, Alex

Wooo!  Sign me up. :D  I see you have an even newer version than mine.  I'll take one of each if you can send me copies.

Hi oldappleguy,

ohh really nice! Thanks for your reply. I would really like to get a copy of each, if you don't mind.

Greetings, Alex

I would also love copies of the hyperdrive floppy disks! Would you be willing to make disk images and upload to an archive such as macintosh garden? Or send the disks to one of us who could do the imaging and the upload? I'd be happy to do it, I expect others would as well.

I like how the two in the upper right hand corner are hand labeled "Hypodrive". Is that the poor man's version of the hyperdrive?
