How to write files to a SCSI2SD

Hello folks. I've installed a SCSI2SD v5.1 in my Color Classic and it's working great  :)

However, I'm trying to work out how I can transfer (write) files from my modern Mac running OS Mojave to the HFS formatted SD card that holds the System 7 install for the CC.

What is the best way to do this?

Regrettably, there is no way to do so other than some sort of file sharing setup. Mojave will only read the HFS partition, it cannot write to it.

I had good luck in the past using Basilisk II.  Add the SD card device in the "SCSI devices" tab of the configuration as if it were a disc image.  Basilisk II has access to the host filing system too (if you're running >= 7.5 in the emulator).

I cover how to do that on my blog.  http://www.savagetaylor.com/2018/09/02/setting-up-your-vintage-classic-68k-macintosh-installing-the-full-version-of-system-7-5-5-or-6-0-8/

Careful though, if you have multiple partitions on you drive, or multiple drives on you SD card, you should split them in to multiple files, vs just mounting you card directly in basilisk.

One footnote to what’s been said above: I’ve been unable to get Basilisk to mount my sd card directly (in Catalina), but I have had success using dd to image the card, mount and edit the HFS drive in Basilisk, then write that image back onto the card again with dd or balenaEtcher.

I didn't know you were on here!  Just wanted to say, that page/your images, have saved me so much time, getting my scsi2sd setup

I followed @Realitystorm's tutorial and I rely on an external scsi2sd to transfer files back and forth into basilisk. I clone my main partition, mount into basilisk II (works fine on my Catalina-powered iMac Pro), add the software I need and then DD it to the sdcard.

Hasn't failed me once! One thing I never managed to do is mount the main partition directly from the SD card into Basilisk II.
