How to remove desktop printer System 7.6.1

So I accidentally clicked on a printer in Chooser and now it keeps appearing on my desktop and when I put it in Trash, I get a message saying the printer will reappear, which it does...annoyingly. Any idea how to get rid of it?

You can turn off desktop printing by disabling the "Desktop Printing" Extension  in Extensions Manager.  When you reboot,  the dektop printer icon  will have an X through it and you can throw it away.

That did it, rickrob. Thanks for the help. Desktop Printing was something I had never experienced under 7.1 - 7.6.1 is a bit of a new beast for me!
