How to initialise non-Apple SCSI HD

Hi,

I have 2x 2 Gb Seagate Barracuda that I'm trying to reformat/initialise for system 7. When I got them, I think they were partition, but when I remove the partition and try reformatting them with Apple software, I couldn't. I receive a message that the partition size is too high for system 7.5, but cannot choose a partition scheme.

Is there a way to reformat them and get them to use?

Which software can help ? (free if possible)

Thanks

Drive Setup from OS 8.1 should do the trick. Or you can use Lido.
In fact, I forgot to mention, but I was using the OS 8 Drive Setup utility.

I tried Lido, and this one told me, while scanning the SCSI bus, that it cannot read the drive capacity and a few other error message while reading the SCSI drive. So, I may mean that the drive just failed of natural death.

The other one I have is a Micropolis one. Was under the impression they were booth Seagate. I'll have to find the jumper setting for this one, to make it different from SCSI 0 not to conflict with the already install internal disk and see if it work. Otherwise, they will have to go to the recycling... Too bad, 2 gig!!!

Those drives may be failed as they were used in a Radio station and may have been on for quite a while before going to storage.

After a few more tests, I will abandon hopes for those 2. They look death all the way! Going to be recycle soon, unless someone ask for a souvenir ;)

Thanks
