@Fizzbinn
Might look into that. Pretty high chance I’d imagine that something breaks, it being a 3D printed part and all. But honestly, I’m starting to think at this point that I might need to cave and buy a parts unit with better plastics. I knew going into it that this was a rough one, but it’s really rough, especially the front bezel. The computer works perfectly hardware wise luckily, but these screen plastics are way worse than my 145 and 170 were. I also screwed up the hinge fix part so it isn’t held on very well I don’t think. We’ll see but especially with this darn screw breaking, I think I might give for now and wait for one that’s dead with vinegar syndrome and buy one cheap. I know I could probably but out a WTB here and get a better deal but for the time being I’m not using the forum trading post due to personal privacy reason. At least for now.
@ymk - that sounds like it would definitely work. Problem is I don’t have a dremel, but I’m sure I can find someone local that does.
Tried that, it was my first thought. Unfortunately it was a very messy break which made setting the broken off head onto it just about impossible. It also is jammed in there, which is exactly why it broke in the first place….
yes, that.
your screw still sticks out a bit..but wih that high spinning dremel disc it will get a bit hot I guess..but I would try that.
Also, if you notice when you screw it in, and it gets too tight/gets stuck, dont overtighten it, small screws easily break..I leearned this with delicate parts on camera repairs. Always respect the screw.
you say the hinge fix isnt held in very good, did it not sit flat enough or bad glue?
