help identify accelerator

I've seen that before.  I think jt recommended using Tattletech at some point... something about looking at declroms. Does it work in the P400?

I've found a couple other posts around the web from 10-20 years back trying to identify this card, but no mention of model. All I can see is probably pretty obvious. 20MHz rated 68020 and 68881 that appear to be clocked at 25MHz, 16KB (2 64 kbit Micron chips) cache that appears to be rated at 25ns. (40MHz) The thing I find curious is that it's populated with a 68020 but is screened to say it fits Macs with 68030s. Perhaps the board could have been optionally configured with an 030?

I think that the 25 mhz is what made it an upgrade with an fpu.  My issue is it does not have software so I dont know if it is going to do anything.  The original crystal was fubar so i ordered a matching replacement (actually loose part inside it).  Will tattle tech show it with no software to enable it?

Possibly.  However, you can find a comparable accelerator and try installing the usual drivers from Daystar, Micromac, etc.  Might work.

ok techtool 1.1.8 shows in an LC without installed no cpu, with card then installed shows fpu.  It doesnt show speed but it seems just to work.  Maybe the lc pds upgrades just work.  the clock speed handled by the crystal.  I may see about putting on apple system profiler to see the speed as it normally shows correct after all the upgrades ive done to this point.

That's cool that it works! I spent some time trying to find out what it could be, but came up dry like everyone else.

Well ya now I know the crystal I put in made it operational.  The old one sounded like a rock inside a pop can lol.
