Wanted to show my MARCHintosh project. Here are the mods-
1) Board and PSU recapped (by last owner)
2) Modified board to run at 33MHz (by last owner)
3) Full 68040 40MHz, coveted 02L88M, with added heat sync
4) BlueSCSI v2 with Mac OS 8.1 of course
5) 1MB 70ns VRAM
6) 128MB 50ns RAM
7) CayMac ROM SIMM, with Will's/BMOW's modifications to ROM (used the CayMac SIMM programmer to flash WIll's 475 ROM)
8) Soft Overclock control panel, extension and control strip, running at 40MHz (FYI I've noticed a marked improvement in stability with the heat sync when using the soft overclock)
9) MacBatt CR2032 replacement for PRAM battery
So with the Norton Utilities benchmarks, take that Quadra 840AV! Mine is the better 68K
My next project is to continue working on disassembling the LC475 ROM and do some cool hacks and changes. Got another thread going on that.
It's like we're in the golden age of 68K Macs right now.
