Green stuff out of an SE/30 CRT?

A few months back I dropped one of my SE/30's while moving a bunch of stuff, and heard a hiss which meant I broke the CRT.  I stuffed it into a plastic crate and put it on a shelf.  Yesterday, when I pulled it out, there was a green liquid underneath the unit.

Anyone seen this kind of liquid come out of a broken CRT?

Turns out the one I broke was probably one of my least desirable units.  It had a Maxell bomb go off inside; the motherboard is in pretty sad shape as is the chassis:

I've pulled the power supply and analog board for re-use.

I recall someone in another thread talking about wanting to cut the front off a depressurized CRT.  Well I've got one and would be happy to send it.

Along those lines, anyone want the motherboard as a project?

I wonder if the green liquid you found leaked out of the clock battery -when I was disassembling my Mac Classic that had leaky Maxell battery inside, the battery was noticeably wet with a gritty, black fluid. The corrosion on your motherboard does not look nearly as widespread as mine, so maybe the reason the liquid inside my computer was black was that it had had more time to corrode the metal.

The damage done to your logic board looks fairly contained to the area around the battery, so I think it is probably repairable.

The volume of the green stuff seemed to me more than what might come out of the relatively small battery.  That is one reason I thought perhaps it wasn't that.

On the other hand, the unit was face down in the crate, and the logic board clearly shows that the battery fluid was leaking directly onto the ROM SIMM, so perhaps it was the battery.

Anyways the offer still stands; anyone want the motherboard for a project?

Same with the CRT.

Was the unit sealed in that tote? Probably condensation mixing with the battery juice. The green is from the board.

I‘d take the board if shipping it over the pond won’t cost a fortune.

Looks fixable to me. I have got one SE/30 shell without a logicboard and could use a board to make it a complete machine again.

Bolle, can you PM me your shipping address so I can get a shipping quote?  I did send a similar sized board to Armor Alley a few months back and it wasn't unreasonable.
