I'm sure this isn't what anybody wants to hear, but there IS a greyscalevideo workaround for Turbo040...

Get one of those Lapis cards, or a SuperMac Spectrum 8/24 PDQsi, and

cram it into the SE/30. Then, implement a totally new video timing and

amplifier circuit, hook it up to the CRT, and you're good to go.

Not that it isn't easier said than done, but it's a plan. That's what XCEED

did, except they only had to implement the video amplifier; they BSed

their refresh timings to meet the standard timings the BIV uses (and the

Analogue board provides).
How about raising some fund to hire somebody to design a circuit to

connect CRT to 9-pin video connector? I own a Turbo 040 and Lapis

DisplayServer and would love to have a grayscale SE/30.

Anybody? ;D
