G4 MDD Final 1.25ghz single CPU FW400 model

A deal too good to pass up, a working Final model Single 1.25Ghz G4 MDD in nice condition. Came with no HD (but both brackets), 1.75GB RAM, an Aria Extreme PCI wireless card by Sonnet, and a Aurora Igniter LT video capture card.

Is there a special OS 9 CD you need to use for installs on this machine?

Yes, you need the MDD restore discs, as retail versions of 9.2.X don't have the necessary ROM and extensions. I think the latest eMac install disc will also work in addition to the machine-specific MDD disc. Edit: I think the jumper issue I recounted in a previous version was from a different machine. If you go "gardening", someone has copied the OS9.2.2 restore image from the restore set. Further information here: http://vintagemacmuseum.com/reinstalling-mac-os-9-on-a-powermac-g4-mdd/

Those MDD computers were very stubborn with the OS material.  I was fortunate enough to find a new old stock MDD about a year ago that had everything.

But software piracy is still not condoned here, and is strongly discouraged.

You are correct, however, that the admins will no longer snip links out of posts.

Just my 2¢.

OS9 lives has a universal 9.2.2 CD image that works fine (its an OS restore CD so it installs fast, just boot from the CD and format the target HD then it installs in a few minutes). My latest MDD has OS9.2.2 booting on it now.
