How much longer should it last? A year? A month? I dont have the money to spend on it right now.

G3 AIO Molar CRT Flickers

Depends. The one that was sitting on the receptionists desk lasted a week or so like that before it blew the horizontal output transistor.
Thank you for writing off a potentially still good part before he can even report back on what is happening now that he has cleaned it. :-/
I haven't got the chance to turn it on yet, but plan on doing it today. Ill keep you updated.
Turned it on. Everything is fine so far, no flickering. I was only on it for 15 minutes though.
Its possible. Only stating my experience. and that was with two, out of possibly millions of these machines made? So there are still odds of course. The insulation inside the transformer breaks down and causes leakage currents to flow by the plastic. The problem gets exacerbated by dust. Eventually it will burn through and thats that. The transformer absorbs moisture over time which is what causes the breakdown. it gets in through the G2/Focus controls.
I have a 12" RGB the same thing happened to, and I have the bad transformer to prove it.

I like to also replace the horizontal output transistor when changing out a flyback. Although it's probably not necessary, both are usually the first parts to go bad in a CRT monitor. I've recapped and repaired hundreds of old arcade game monitors, and learned quickly to change both out, as the HOT usually goes relatively soon after the flyback.
Whether it's worth the expense is completely up to the person.

Im going to be selling the AIO eventually, and Im getting a desktop PM G3 anyways, which I can use an LCD with. So Im not going through the expense.
Shame. These are only getting more rare. But I guess technically everything is at this point.
Well, I am not going to be using it very much, so Id say the FBT won't get much wear. That should keep it at its current state.
Honestly, I do not have any money to put into it at the moment, which is why I will let the next person do it, if it even needs to be replaced at all. The guy I bought it from said that he really thought it was dust settling. He did not mention it happening to him at all, which I would think he would fess up since I noticed it, so Id agree. Then again, the FBT is getting old.
Then again, the worst that'll happen if I dont replace it is that it will explode (Possibly) and take out a few capacitors. But that would only happen if it was on. Its not like its going to destroy every thing.

I might have a spare fbt in one of my parts machines but as parts machines they could be bad too. I have four working aios and three or four parts machines to keep them good.
Thats fine. There is a site which sells them new, but as said, they are $70. But they are new too...
Wow I struggle to store my AIO. I can't image how you keep 7 of them.
That in itself is the struggle but they are a great helper machine. I had the chance at about 100 of them for free but there was no way for me to handle all of them.
I can just picture that right now... Every room of your houseflies with them. And you can't stack them either because of the fragile top.
If I didn't have hundreds of other machines I could have made it work with the hundred all in ones

Turned on the AIO yesterday for around 30 minutes. Went on OS 9, finally tried out OS X (With 96 MB of ram!), tried downloading classilla (The download page turned white and didn't download...
) and went back to OS 9. No flickering! I think it was HOPEFULLY dust settling.

I have thought about this, and since shipping will be alot, Im gonna keep it!
This thing has NO yellowing, NO scratches, NO nothing!
*looks over* Nope, just a plain old shadow-mask. And if you could get a 1024x768 LCD the right size, it would be a nice replacement for a dead CRT, but good luck with that these days!
