Found in a skip not Apple related

I was lucky today, taking some rubbish to the trash, i did found some freebies in a waste skip:

A set of 3 Palm handheld V series ( Two V's and one Vx)

I already have several units of the Vx units, but never looked for the V (more or less the same unit, but with less storage) but once again can't resist a free unit.

No docking/charging station, but i have several, so no big deal.

Another Handheld, HP if i can remember, but i had no way to charge it...so was left, just removed the SD card.

A set of PC 100 Sd-ram sticks (can be useful for Powermacs)

Two Dell DVD drive, one internal and one external (with the unusual D/Bay USB plug)

A 20 Gb laptop Hard Disk.

All that stuff was hard to reach, everything was covered by old computer stuff (nothing really nice)

In the end, was quite happy to plug everything and to discover that all was working :)

Nice find! You're good with handhelds.

I remember that odd dell drive! Remember scraping such years ago (new in a box) due the unusual connector, felt like never going to need one (so far, no need LOL).

Oh man, I had a VX in high school!

That thing was awesome! I especially liked using it as a remote control to turn off TVs or for playing spacewar!

The Dell D-Bay is nice if you've got a Latitude D series laptop with no internal drive bay (i.e., Latitude X-1, D4x0). There is also a compatible port on the D-series docks (D-port and D-dock). It will take any D-series module with the exception of the D expansion bay battery (and third-party SATA modules).

Only one is missing, another Vx, was bought new ...and was the gift i made to my wife for her graduation.

All of them are in working condition, except the IIIx.

Anybody collecting handhelds also ?

@ jrushme

There is also a compatible port on the D-series docks
Yes, i have the dock and the port is present, should try soon.

I only really have a Palm TX, Nokia N800, an HP TouchPad I got when they were 99$, and a bunch of Toshiba WM2003 handhelds with lousy batteries. No Palm stacks.

I only really have a Palm TX
The T|X is a great Palm, the better looking of the range, with that nice dark color...and has got wifi also.

Should get one someday, but prices are still high.

@ Highlandcattle

Found your flickr stream a couple of months ago... looking for Psion related information, so was aware already, but nice for sharing.

I had a Palm V, Vx, IIIc, M, M515, and Treo 650, but they have been sold.

I own a Newton MP120 now, I really really want an emate, but I only ever see them for > 60 bucks and at that price its hard to justify.

I have been looking at 68k colour Palms and the phones, but the phones can't use WiFi at all (seriously Palm?) and the 68ks are price inflated.

the 68ks are price inflated
Should be lucky, most of mine came free or close.

Except the pair we paid for (my wife and i) the more expensive one was the M 515...because it was in need of a new battery (but only paid 7 € for a new unit) the Psion itself was a mere 4 € !

I took a look about Palms sold here. At auction they seem to be around 10-30€ from Palm Tungsten/T2 to Vx's what i've seen.

A relative has given to me a full box of Palm related stuff !!

Mainly Palm Cradles (for the Vx / M5xx and Tungsten series)

Also in the box 2 Tungsten E handhelds, working and charging right now :)

Already looking to give some cradles away.

Two more !!

A Zire 31 complete including PSU,stylus and Leather casing, working great...was just 3€:

A Qtek 9090, no PSU but managed to find the pin-out and works great, won't keep this one... not impressed by the OS (but at the same time it's a phone too)

As no PSU was supplied i get this one for free :)

As someone with some WinMo PDAs, Windows Mobile before 5.0 is really fiddly: a hard reset will cause the PDA to start from scratch, like an old Palm.

That's Windows Mobile 2003, possibly SE. I hope that thing still has a good battery.
