Floppy Drive upgrade Questions Original Mac II

I got a Mac II, no floppy drive, I got a perfectly good working 1.44mb drive sitting here, The II doesnt have the upgraded ROMS, will it hurt to put the 1.44 drive in place of the 800k

I think the old 400K drives might have had different cables. You have to be carefull since the power to the drive comes from the cable.

Yeah the drives look exactly the same, just different part numbers
