Floppy Disk Trouble on 128k Mac

I bought a 128k Mac. Disk drive conitnually spins, disk inserted or not. Swapped out disk drive for another known-good one, same thing is going on. I'm guessing it's something with the motherboard? Help!

What cable are you using ?

The cable from the drive to the motherboard is the original.

Sounds like a component on the drive has died.
Suggest you look that the transistors as a starting point.
