Finally scored a Micron video card

This came out of an SE/30 with no hard drive. I'm assuming the drivers are somewhere out there on the net?

Also, wasn't there someone making the greyscale adapter kit? This has the extra socket for it but no adapter.

So you get that replacement CRT board and wiring cable for $1200 and you still need a hard to find Micron PDS card? Pricey isn't it.

$1200 haha that is crazy for a bundle of wires and basic components, the CRT board doesn't appear to have any specialised ICs on it ... weren't schematics kicking around a while back?

It says 1200 for the whole kit, its a complete replica. It's cool but 1200 dollars could buy any other old Mac and stuff it into an SE30. I like the upgrade Idea but 1200 is just ....... Too much for most.

If you're looking at the finished eBay auction, that listing is $1200 for the adapter AND the Micron card, not just for the adapter. I saw the adapters on eBay awhile ago and they were no where near 1200, though they were still expensive for what they are.

How much do the old SE/30 with original micron greyscale setups go for, I recall $500 maybe years ago?

I love my SE/30's but you only get one upgrade without spending tons of cash for a mutli adapter. So I stick with Ethernet. A greyscale SE/30 would be cool but then I would want a CPU upgrade and Ethernet meaning a whole wad of cash... cheaper just to fire up a IIfx (which isn't cheap anymore either).

If I sell one, which is somewhat likely if both test out okay, I'll be sure to post here about it. I won't be getting anymore from the same source though since that was the last SE/30 he had.

I was lucky enough to pickup a DayStar multi-adapter for a good price and an Ethernet card too before they spiked from $50 to over $100 so I should be able to run all 3.

Once I source or build the grayscale adapters I'll have the SE/30 I've wanted.
