Finally... a Twentieth Anniversary Mac

I've only had a chance to set up the basic unit an played with it for 15 minutes but it's better than I imagined. Fully boxed with immaculate packaging. All items were in the original bags and everything was included. In addition, it had a network card, a USB pci card and a black mouse. It came with the slim back installed but over this coming weekend, I'll be putting the cards in and the fat back. Initial impressions... I am impressed!

That start up sound is great. I can't wait to try some iTunes on it. Came with 8.6 and 9.1 installed. I'm not sure how to switch between the two but 9.1 comes up as the default. I can't wait to dig in a little more this weekend. I'll see if I can post some pics (because I know I always appreciate them when others post).

Yeah, that's the holy grail for me! Nice score! Did you purchase it or get it free?

I would think the Sonnet L2 Cache G3 upgrade cards would work well, no? In my 6400 (same motherboard) it really made a difference.

Heck yeah it does. I've got a Sonnet 400 in box and Sonnet 500. With a Sonnet 500, 64GB SSD in there and 128MB RAM I benchmarked 900% better than a stock TAM. Gotta love having 45GB of music on there.

Do you have the PCBA riser for the twisted sister ethernet adapter? If not, they are IMPOSSIBLE to find. I literally bought two TAM's for those cards and resold them to people who didn't care.

I think I've got 5 TAM's right now probably a few too many

Comparing cards on http://www.20thanniversarymac.com/partslist.htm , it's got a PCBA comm bridge riser and a PCI Bridge card. The cards include an Apple Ethernet CS II Twisted Pair card and a ADS Technologies PCI USB Host adapter. These will go in this weekend. It doesn't have a Sonnet Crescendo L2 G3 card but maybe one day I'll find one for a good price.

It was definitely not free but I think I did okay on price. I'm just happy to have one
