I think the issue with Shift is that the error happens too early on in the startup process, that it crashes before the shift key can disable extensions.
nope, checked everything. The first thing I did when i got it was examined the motherboard. I was able to boot from an OS 8 CD and format the drive. Im starting fresh with OS 8.
