So I managed to get the eMate leads soldered onto the pack from the baby monitor, and plugged in to the eMate. It sees that there is a battery there, and says that it is charging/charged but when I pull the power adapter out it goes dead right away. Not sure if pack or operator error lol! Any idea why it would say that? It's a 7.5V charger. I get a solid orange then solid green on the eMate, but then it's like nothing is there.
Sounds like a bad battery, though having said that, I do vaguely recall needing to plug/ unplug/ quickly plug in again to get the replacement battery to charge properly, after which it has worked flawlessly. That must be 5-6 years back, but it’s still going strong. I’ve always assumed the problem to have been that the machine had learned the bad behaviour of the old battery and needed to get to grips with the new.
