First post, so hello everyone.
Short version:
Who in the UK could do the recapping of a fully working 2300c with tantalum-type capacitors?
I found Elvikom in Worcester but they are on holiday until 19th of July (which explains why my email have not been answered!). Anybody else, private individual, company...?
Long version:
I have kept this Duo 2300c, together with accessories like Minidock, Dock, floppy drive, SCSI cable and external drive... as I am still using it, more than 30 years after purchasing it. It is a must-have for me as the only machine available that can control two Opcode Studio 5 LX MIDI interfaces, which are still incredibly useful as a complex MIDI patcher for the studio.
Whilst my Duo 2300c is stil working without any issue, I am starting to be concerned that one day I may find myself with leaked capacitors. So whilst the machine is 100% operational, maybe now is the time to get it recapped to ensure its long-term survival.
Apart from that, it is a very nice little machine, upgraded at the time to 56 Mb RAM, and a bit later, I installed a bridge that enabled me to fit a 9 Gb HD. I have kept OS 8.6 which I find better suited to it than OS 9.
Cheers !
François
