Dumb question re: SE with Radius MagicBus card

JRL

So I picked up a dual floppy SE with a Radius Accelerator 16 and a Radius TPD card (along with the TPD monitor) several weeks ago. Right now it's not booting so I am attempting to check the card to see if it's fitted ok (the two boards seem to be a tight fit currently)

The problem is that I can't slide out the SE motherboard because the MagicBus card connector is in the way of the frame. What would be the best way to remove it? I have a hunch the answer is obvious but I am genuinely stumped.

Thanks!

You know the board does not slide out all the way? You only need to slide it towards the back of the machine until the cutouts on the board align with the frame and then you can swing it out towards the bottom of the machine.

If it doesn’t get far enough for the cutouts to align you can try to bend one side of the frame away a little bit.

Never seen one of the magicbus cards in person, is there a standoff or something under the connector that keeps you from just pushing down on the connector to get it under the frame?

There should be enough flex in the board to allow for this (if there is nothing under it to block that kind of movement though)

Radius16 by itself requires the "pry the chassis apart" installation/removal method. The connector for the TPD would be on the Accelerator. MagicBUS plugs into the PDS and is used to install the VidCard when no accelerator is present

Thanks Bolle! Yeah the connector is too tall for me to flex the top frame unfortunately - there are some screwed on standoffs on the Radius 16 as well.

Ahh, now I feel silly - thanks JT! I see that the TPD connector is part of the accelerator now. Looking into trying to pry the chassis right now, sounds like a tough/annoying process though x_x

Hope you got it out all right. I usually put a thin screwdriver between the gaps in the slots, turn it to stretch and angle it out a bit for lift so the MB sits on the lip of the slots until the very end when it pops out with out having been torqued too much  .  .  .  hopefully. ::)
