Desintegrated Powerbook 3400c

Hi guys,

A couple weeks ago I bought a powerbook 3400c. The only problems it had? A couple bad capacitors, which I can fix I think, and the plastics that were completely desintegrating in my hands. The palmrest had broke in two, and the screen hinge standoffs had snapped off so badly that there were three gaping holes in the bottom of the laptop. Did I also mention that the bottom case broke in half when I opened it up |) ? So, anyways, I was wondering if you guys had some ideas on how to either fix this, or build your own case.

Thanks for any help you guys can give,

Macman0512

Dang, that would be disappointing. Any pictures? Short of finding another using in better condition and swapping parts out, I'm not sure if there are any practical ways to fix something like that.

I have gone thru several 3400s - they are *brittle* as - it all comes down to how they were stored/used etc.. my current 3400 is pretty good and it hasn't cracked or anything... Ive got a few cracked as well.
Cheers

AP

Hi Macman0512

I came late to this post

If you are still needing ANYTHING, especially the plastics, for a PB 3400c please contact me.

Try using an Acme Integrating Pistol. It worked for Daffy Duck in Duck Dodgers when Marvin the Martian disintegrated him.
