DB15 to VGA video adapter genders

Hi!

I have one of these things here. Until today I thought it was the right adapter to connect a DB-15 Mac to a VGA display, but it seems it's built for the exact opposite: connect a VGA computer to an Apple DB-15 display.

My question is: if I buy two gender changers (one for DB-15, and one for VGA) will this actually work? Or are the display signaling pins wired in some way that works only in one direction (using diodes, etc)? And will it work fine on an LC 475?

The reason I'm asking is the gender changers are way cheaper and faster to obtain (locally VS shipping from the US) than the typical adapters with DIP switches, etc.

Thank you,

It might work, but I kind of doubt it. Seems like it would also end up being really long and difficult to use. The real adapters seem to be fairly plentiful (at least around here; I couldn't speak to availability in Portugal) and even sometimes cheap; I think it would probably be worth finding the right thing rather than buying something that may or may not work. It's unfortunate your seller described his adapter the way he did, it is definitely misleading.
I found an adapter on Amazon UK which should work with your 475 (one reviewer actually uses it with a 475). It's cheaper than the other adapter you purchased.
