Yep! It's a Real!-- 040/68030-DayStar card,and I have a few Quadra and some SE that I have used it in.

Have everything to make it run,an then some.

Nice! I have the same in a Mac II essentially turning it into a IIfx. That car its mounted on looks the same, if not similar, to the II mount. Thats what I loved about DayStar. One card to rule them all with just the right adapter versus cards very specific to certain machines.

I would not mind a couple more for my IIci's. Just don't have the pennies to buy them.

One of my regrets is never snagging an 030 daystar for the IIci PDS. I did manage to get a few 68040 daystars plus other brands.

Give the cost in small scale production and often the reduced cost of these old chips, what would be the difficulty in recreating some of these? I know nothing of what would be involved. But unless there is some major custom IC work, and as long as the chips are still around, would it not be possible? If so, I wonder how much small scale runs would cost?

You might as well buy a few old relics for the costs of making a small scale run of boards and writing your own firmware. 68030 chips at decent speeds are hard to come by (Amiga users took them all ages ago).

Amiga users did get some new designed 68020/16 boards (no FPU) made for Amiga 1200 systems sold at Amigakit for $69 plus shipping.
