Colour Classic / LC575 / Internal SCSI Issues

Hi All,

Recently picked up a CC and upgraded with LC575 and MYSTIC mod. Also recapped the main board.

Odd little issue. Unit will boot fine off an external BLUESCSI unit. I have multiple BLUESCSI units and they all seem to work for external booting.

However, when trying to boot off internal SCSI cable - no go. Won't see the BLUESCSI at all - even checked with SCSIprobe.

Just wondering, do I need term power ON or OFF when using the BLUESCSI internally?

Termination power should be ON. Otherwise you should power it with the internal molex connector+converter cable.

So I got a bit frustrated trying to use a BLUESCSI internally and dug out an old SCSI drive to see if that would work on the internal SCSI chain. It worked fine so it's clearly a setup issue with my BLUESCSI.

I formatted the SD card as ExFAT and Master Boot Record config. I then got a pre-built BLUESCSI HD image with MacOS 7.1 installed and used the correct naming convention before copying over to the SD card.

Not see by the Color Classic internal boot chain no matter what I do.

Any other hints?

In the root directory of the SD card there is a file called "log.txt" If there are problems with the BlueSCSI, you could possibly read it back in this file.

And what other files are you having on the SD card? You should have a disk file with a working system or an empty disk file with a correct file name like "HD00_512 HD 1.dsk" The notation "HD00" represent the SCSI-ID 0.

Another point with SCSI ID numbers, when you have an internal and external BlueSCSI, be sure there are no dupicate numbers. Every SCSI ID number can be used just ones. If you have SCSI ID 0 on the internal, it can not be on the external.
