Colour Classic Display Weirdness

Hey guys. My Colour Classic, as first mentioned in Bundleconquest, is doing something very strange at the moment -

I adjusted the display geometry so as to make the most of my screen, small as it is - the display now stretches to the end of the bevel.

I did this while the box was hot, that is still running, so I could see my adjustments in real time.

When I reassembled the box and restarted, looking at the screen was like looking at it through green glasses. Other colours were still there, just ... buried in a sea of green.

I pulled it apart again, very carefully reseated the connector for the CRT, and checked all the other wiring - and on booting again got the oppurtunity to see my Mac through rose-coloured glasses before it faded to lilac, went normal for a second or two, then went bluish again and then settled on the by-now familiar green.

I have about zero familiarity with the mechanics of analogue board work, and even less with how the video signal (TTL?) is parsed... Anyone have any ideas?
