Clipper HD

I know I got a mac plus with a killy clipped accelerator I need to figure out what to do with some day.

The thing is, we are limited by the current rating of the transformer. If you drive it too hard, itll saturate and become problematic or fry it alltogether.

The starting point is upgrading the chopper transistor, and modifying the feedback network to allow for slightly more current draw. This will allow the transformer to produce more output current. At the cost of driving the transformer harder. This can cause saturation of the core, or all kinds of unwanted things. I really dont think it will be that bad. but if we want to draw a couple of amps extra we could be in for a surprise, transformer could overheat and fail.

I'm going to keep looking for a Clipper type enclosure for my Plus. There has to be some out there that aren't crap.

There are newer black ones I saw on eBay that say they use 2.5 drive and have power supplies. Looks exactly like the clipper but black.

its been quite a while, i sent it back… she is saying that she didn't get it.

man i hope she's not running a scam.

do me a favor. can you report the ad… She is still selling this non working garbage.

I may of been taken… I sent it back and she is saying she didn't get it.

at-least stop others from buying this.

I mean at this point she knows dam well it doesn't work.

Yeah, I mean, if it doesn't work with Apple 2.5" SCSI drives, nor the Adtron, I cant imagine it will work with anything.

well if you have a tracking number to prove you sent it back, file a paypal claim, save all emails and send them to paypal. theyll refund it and lock her account up.

I have no tracking number. It was sent back First Class.

I opened a resolution and it doesn't have an option for me to select no tracking number.

OH well.

Huh. I ordered some stuff from that seller a while back which appears not to have even arrived at my friendly US assistant's address.

You need to figure a way to hack a Zip drive into a Clipper!
Zipper?

Bought a good few things from that seller and found her very reasonable / professional. Fast shipping and nice contact too.

Sorry to hear you're having problems.

The case itself is just an adapter. The AC Adapters are likely faulty. The cheap Chinese switching power supply likely couldn't handle the surge load from an old hard drive like a good old fashioned linear wall wart brick could anyway.
