Cap Replacement Help

So I need to replace these 6.3v 1500uf caps



and these 6.3v 1000uf caps



Can I use these as replacements??





Any help would be appreciated... sorry about my sideways pictures, 68kmla does that to my uploads.

I see a typo.. second picture should have the caption 6.3v 1800uf, not 6.3v 1000uf

They look like a smaller diamter than the originals. Leads might not lines up. If they do line up and you have clearance for the extra height, then I don't see why you couldn't use them

Why not order new ones though?

I'd check the other components around those though. That looks like some serious damage to the caps.

I agree with Rickrob, for a test they are fine, but on the long run go for new ones, caps are not expensive.

the trick to removing these monkeys,   is  to flip the pcb upside down and flow 60/40 solder into all the +/- cap joints first, then melt some on the iron

and kind of lay the iron on its side so you are melting the solder on both terminals at the same time,  then you should be able to grab the cap on the top side and it should slide right out.   Then you can use wick, or solder sucker or vacuum desoldering iron to clear the residual solder out of the holes.

Yah, I actually got the old caps out no problem, alternating between pins while slightly pulling the cap out.  They all came out relatively easily.  I DID just order new caps from mouser..  this is for an intel iMac.
