Bad ROM in SE/30

I all else fails, I am pretty sure I have three spare SE/30 ROMS on hand, just need to look at my inventory this weekend. They are from boards that had bad caps and I can test the ROM in my other SE/30s. Just cover shipping.

There are two SE/30 ROM versions (that I've seen); neither will say "SE/30."  The one you posted is 820-0241-02 / 630-4339; the other is 341-0655A [i'm not clear on the consistency of those serials...].  You can also put other more exotic ROMs in there.  I would be surprised if they'd boot without ROMs, but now I'm curious.
That is my fault. I thought my SE\30 board did not have a ROM SIMM, and it might be the (one of) problems I have with it, as I got a replacement SE\30 board and after cracking open the case today, it has a ROM SIMM.

So in my crusty old memory, I stated that it boots without the ROM SIMM as that SE\30 used to turn on and boot.

This adds to the mystery - what happened to the original ROM SIMM on that machine?

The "upgraded" i would guess are IIfx roms and such to be 32 bit clean.  So look up IIfx rom simm.
In owning a IIfx that DOES NOT HAVE A ROM SIMM, though I've heard of them but I never seen this IIfx "32-bit clean" ROM SIMM. As far as I know, the IIfx came out 32bit clean from the factory like the IIci without a ROM SIMM. The same is true with the IIsi; I have 2 and no ROM SIMM for that, but it too has ROMs on the board. Question is are they 32-bit clean or not. I have heard of IIsi ROM SIMMs however but never saw them either. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Now, the ROM SIMM itself would be great for the SE\30.  Whether or not it is "32BIT Clean" is a moot point, if it is 24Bit Dirty, Mode 32 will fix that.
