Apple high res 13”

Decided to recap the board. Worked fine, smelt fishy lately. Recapped it. Powers on, crt makes the usual noise, screen stays black. Any ideas? I know the psu is fine as I tested that first after recapping it and was fine. Just did other boards todays

More often than not in my own experience its almost always a bad solder joint. The worst mistake I've done that killed a device I recapped was installing the cap backwards and it killed a irreplaceable part.

Ok, will have to pull apart again. Wait for it to discharge. There is a couple of bipolar caps. Mouser only had the one type in stock. Other one is a non stocked item. So left it.

All good, checked caps, all looked good. For some reason lc ii isn’t displaying video. Hooked it up to iisi and worked beautifully.

well, both my high res monitors are done that's a lot of recapping for last two days. Did three external scsi drive and apple CD-ROM psu as well...just finished my 540c power supply....

Yes, found a list on here I believe. Will track it down. Wasnt too bad. Did one board at a time

M0401 AppleColor High-Res RGB monitor capacitor list?

Does anyone have a capacitor list for the M0401 AppleColor High-Resolution RGB monitor? I found a thread with a list for the later M1297 revision, but I was not able to find anything for the M0401.

@imactheknife did you recap just the PSU and Deflection board using my list? After months, and I mean months of daily use, mine started to give a squiggly image and I am going to have to take it apart and see if something got messed up or if maybe recapping the input board will help my issue.

I have a second monitor on the way so that I can swap parts and see where my issue lies exactly.

My heart sank when it started giving me issues as you are well aware, the recapping on these monitors is no easy task.

Thanks! I am hoping my issue is my input board not being serviced but I am concerned something else might have gone bad.

I enjoy the challenges when things break but sometimes these failures get the best of me

My one monitor kind of slanted to the left when i opened drop down menus before recap. Was fine after recap. Also did some adjustments while cover was off. It also smelt fishy which is definitely cap juice. I recapped everything, all three boards.
