Apple Dealer Signs

So I am curious... Perhaps someone can weigh in here... I have purchased over the years two Apple Dealer signs.. I bought the second one mostly because the first one has a very tiny chip in the top right corner...

So when you look at them very closely.. The one with the chip the lettering in Macintosh and the "TM" are very crisp... as well as the Apple logo.. The other one there is no green in the apple's stem... Also the second one the Apple and "TM" are not as crisp... Perhaps this was done in manufacturing... I honestly don't think it's a fake.. The base is the same as the original...

Any input is greatly appreciated... Very odd.... Perhaps others can look at their signs and let me know if they have any of the same flaws??

Perhaps this was a reject from the factory.. the one on the right and someone there producing them kept it??? Dunno...

Pretty sure this has been discussed before. First, the pigments do break down. Depending on the light, blue is usually the first to go. Based on how faded the keyboard is on the right one its possible the green simply faded away. Also it seems these were very much hand crafted. I could not guess as to how many were made. But differences in positions of etchings sorta pointed to them not running down a production line with strict standards.

Unity is right about the pigment breakdown pattern, assuming a florescent or broad-spectrum light source, higher energy colors (purple, blue, green, etc...) will always go first.

And we have indeed had an entire thread about this before, someone previously noticed something quite similar between two of them. I believe it was either this year or maybe late to mid 2013. If I remember correctly, the theory is that the the ones which appear to be more centered are possibly later runs, whereas those that are less centered are from earlier runs, but no one is really sure. There is a severe paucity of information about them.

I think you should save yourself the heartache of comparing them and sell me whichever one you like least!
