Apple A1016 Bluetooth Keyboard - Can A Wireless Keyboard Power On a Mac From a Cold Boot?

Picked up an A1016 wireless keyboard. Currently using it with my Mac Pro 1,1. Did the Apple wireless keyboards ever have a feature where it could power on the Mac from a cold boot?

I realize that this is a ridiculous question since the keyboard has to be synced first to the Mac in order for it to work, and in the case of Snow Leopard, it takes a couple of seconds after the Apple boot screen for it to pair to the Mac. But anything beats having to physically press the power switch on the Mac on initial startup.

I think the only keyboard that can do this might be the original iMac and B&W G3 USB keyboard. Everything else either doesn't have a power key or is wireless, so it wouldn't be able to power up a Mac. Even an ADB keyboard used with an iMate or similar adapter probably won't do it with a Mac Pro. A G4 Digital Audio, sure. I do know that a later G4 won't let you power it up with the power key on an ADB keyboard connected through a Griffin iMate. Tried many years ago when I owned my old G4 MDD. Wouldn't respond. Yet, my G4 DA had no problem with starting up using the M0115 keyboard and iMate combo.

It does, and that's what I was using before I got the A1016. Only problem with the B&W G3 keyboard is it omits certain features not found on the extended keyboards, like volume control and CD eject (although you can use F12 as a substitute for that). The USB cord could also be longer, but otherwise it's a long lasting durable keyboard.
