Apple 10T/5 Workgroup Hub

I never knew that these existed, but sure enough, one came plugged into the LaserWriter I acquired today. It is essentially a 4-port standard RJ45 ethernet hub attached to an AAUI transceiver, making it a 5-port hub.

I thought it was incomplete, as it did not come with a power adapter, but it turns out that the external power supply is only necessary if it is not plugged into an AAUI port, from which ordinarily it draws power.

Has anyone else seen one of these before?

Never saw one before. Very cool though and much more interesting than the AAUI to RJ45 adapters I've got.

yup, had one in college, used it to share the single ethernet port in my dorm room with my Supermac J700, IIci, II and my roomates powerbook 100 w/ a SCSI/ethernet adaptor.

I have a few of those, but all third-party. Never knew Apple made their own!

I use one connected to my Centris 650, with one port connected to an AirPort Express acting as a Wireless-to-wired bridge and have three spare ports for other systems.
