Yup, they have taken that too - I didn't check.Don’t forget about the Voltage regulator thingy.
PM on the wayPretty sure I have a spare one of those.![]()
Hehe... I am planning another trip soon - but I think I might have a spare G3 ROM over here. Might be a fallback plan tho.unless we can get @mg.man to travel again.
Do you have any pics of the A/B/C ROMs? Will help with my local investigations.Rev. A, B or C?

Just to muddy the water, one of my Beige G3s has a 4-chip Rev A ROM.They're different from other ROM modules of this form factor in that htey have 2 slightly longer chips on just one side instead of 4 chips, 2 per side
That's your best bet. The issue is that they're difficult to see in photos, and sometimes you see chips with the standard rom part labels, not the Apple part. I think both of my Rev A simms don't have the apple chip numbers, I can see "SEC" and AMD's logos.I'm mainly going by the -S0402 and -S0403 P/Ns on mine.
Will see if I can fire up a G3DT or MT to confirm.
I would say 100% needing recap. I am on the fence with going polymer or tantalum on the newer machines. Are there any common points of failure for a beige G3 board? Mine occasionally fails to boot, though fiddling and reseating parts always gets it going again.
People say that they don’t need recapping, though I am not sure about this. While I was working on my Personality card I recapped the one electrolytic that’s on there, next to the audio in and out ports, and there was evidence of leakage.
I’m planning on polymer myself. More authentic looking.I would say 100% needing recap. I am on the fence with going polymer or tantalum on the newer machines.
