Hi all!
Last year I stumbled across a rough-but-intact Mac 512k. I probably would've bought it regardless ($60 for an early Compact Mac these days is a decent bargain!), but I absolutely jumped on it when I saw that it had a "MonsterMac by Levco" sticker on the front, and a SCSI ribbon cable snaking out from behind the floppy port on the rear.
I'm happy to report that the system seems to work fine. It was super grimy and dusty inside, one of the front corners is chipped away, and the floppy drive is unable to eject the (bootable) disk that came with it... but the system does boot, and shows a nice 2MB of RAM available.
However, when I try to power it up with my trusty external SCSI2SD connected, the LED on the SCSI2SD turns on and stays solid continuously, and the Mac will chime and restart continuously (no Happy Mac icon, just a gray screen). This SCSI2SD boots my Mac Plus and Mac Portable just fine, so at least in theory it should work here too... unless the MonsterMac has some specific requirements or expectations that I'm unaware of? It boots perfectly well off my Floppy Emu, if that helps...
Thanks for any tips you might share!
Huxley
PS Here are some pics - this poor baby has had a rough life, and I intend to make it pretty and fully functional again!
