Another LCD liberated from vinegar syndrome, this one is a PowerBook 5300ce

When I discovered this defect on two of the best PowerBook in my basement I was shocked…

Then, slowly I am fixing it. Here some pictures and some hints:

My last fix was for a PowerBook 180c:

PowerBook 180c, a very aggressive mold

After some years of storage I decided to fix some dead PBs. This one has developer a very aggressive mold that has damaged the front plastic of the LCD. This one was my 3rd PB180 (for spares, especially the LDC): very sad though.

polarizers film from alibaba. for the 9” PB180c I could use the sheet in diagonal, but for the bigger SVGA display of the PB5300ce I need to source the 45° sheets or bigger
