ADTPro and the //C, having a bit of an issue with them both.

I've been working, as some of you know, with Apple IIs, Mac, and the PC and i've run into a little problem with the //c and ADTPro.

With my //GS i can do it and "see" it working but with the //c i boot, get the "check diskette" message, type CTRL+RESET and get a prompt, type in IN#2 then CTRL+A and 15B and it seems that nothing really happens after i transfer the prodos then the serial client, for either one.

I tried CTRL+A then I and then CTRL+A and CTRL+I but it seems to be "no joy" all the way.

I've trie both 9-pin and 25-pin serials and i'm using a standart Radio Shack Null-Modem block (Works great with the IIGS).

I tried the 115,200 and 19,200 and with or without the "Apple IIc Serial" check box and it really sucks.

I was hoping to use the //c to get better speed x-fers since the program says it can use 115,200 but no joy.

Must i use some "specific" null cable JUST made for the IIc? All My IIc does is sit at the prompt and stare at me :?:

PS: For some of you that saw my "Dead //C" post, i have several Apples and this is a different situation. [^]

Are you saying that you have successfully done the bootstrapping procedure for the IIc? In other words, you have correct-enough cabling to make that much work?

On the IIc, hitting CTRL+A should turn the blinking cursor into a blinking question mark (?). That means the serial firmware is accepting your commands. After you enter 15B, the question mark should change back to the normal cursor.

Yep, that should work. Which IIc do you have, exactly? Do you have one with the 5-pin serial ports, or a IIc+ with the 8-pin ones? What cabling do you have going from the IIc to the null modem block? Can you post any pictures? (1 pic=1k words)

Just remember, you have to change both sides when you change the baud rate. When you go to the ADTPro configure screen on the IIc side - what does it say for the 'COMMS DEVICE'? You should be using 'SSC SLOT 2' for an IIc. The ADTPro client, in versions before 1.0.4, didn't automatically choose that correctly for IIc computers.

Well, yes and no. You need one that will correctly connect to the back of the IIc... If you have an IIc+, then I still don't know if the same cable that works for an IIgs will work with an IIc+ or not. I have an IIc+ coming in the mail so I will eventually be able to tell for sure.

Well, yes and no. You need one that will correctly connect to the back of the IIc... If you have an IIc+, then I still don't know if the same cable that works for an IIgs will work with an IIc+ or not. I have an IIc+ coming in the mail so I will eventually be able to tell for sure.

For posterity's sake:

The IIc+ came, and I ran my tests. Turns out the same pinout that I show on the ADTPro page for the IIgs "printer" cable works for the IIc+ as well. No modifications are necessary.
