A slow start and a good start - recapping my SE/30

I recently decided it was time for me to finally get that SE 30 I always wanted. One eBay auction later I had a great, running example with no artifacts and what appears to be a solid and happy power supply and analog board.

I took the chance to boot it once after I received it and… I was pretty surprised that it booted off of the replacement 250 MB hard disk with zero apparent issues.

Tonight my caps arrived, so I started off by removing the surface mount caps. I replaced all eight Sim slots on one of my next stations once so I’m not totally unfamiliar with this stuff, but this is a much smaller scale than I’m used to, and SMD.

I just got some parts, including a new ROM from Karo - and holy cow, I’ve got to take them to lunch next time I’m in Japan. Wow. I’m hoping to be able to pick up a few more goodies (I’ve pinged about the Asante Ethernet clone riser/accel) from the fantastic and helpful folks here.
