$449 is certainly an optimistic starting price on that auction. *shrug* People are funny enough that I wouldn't bet against him getting it.

With the upgraded case, CPU, HD, RAM, video card, airport, monitor and HK Soundsticks, it's not that outlandish a price. The CPU upgrade alone is a couple hundred bucks.
The replacement cases allowed more room for airflow to prevent upgraded Cubes from overheating.
