A Couple of Questions

I bought a System Saver for my 128k, because God blessed me with some extra funds and I am wondering when it gets here what I should do about my intended usage for it. Here it is:

I desire oh so intensely to take it to people who need some convincing that God exists and might be convinced by my story. I am thinking a circuit at local YMCAs and the local Christian school that I once attended for kindergarten through middle school.

I need to know if general venues outside of your home (wherever you guys might take the early compacts) keep the HVAC units set to cool enough so that cool enough air will be circulated by the System Saver so that my ideas of motivational speaking with 128k demonstration afterwards will be successful. I am thinking small groups of people at first, around 5 to no more than 10 people.

As for the noise generated by a System Saver, as long as the bearings don't appear to be failing, then there's no way I am going to complain about the extra noise.

If I hadn't wanted the carrying case, ImageWriter, and external M0130 floppy drive, I would have already bought the System Saver.

Please enlighten me if you have any experience carrying your 128k through Plus systems anywhere outside of your own homes.

(P.S. I didn't see any previous topics about the opinions of people as to whether venues like what I want to take my 128k to keep their HVAC units cool enough to complete the work the System Saver is trying to do, only that the general advice is the cooler the better. Which I do as much as possible at home.

I am thinking a temperature of 60-79 should be expected, but I want your opinions as to what they set their HVAC units to.

I'm not sure I'm understanding your question, but as long as you aren't blocking the vents, didn't put any additional heat sources in it (like an internal HD) and have reasonable airflow, it would probably tolerate temperatures up to around 85 F. I wouldn't run it too much higher than that, though.

Thanks! I know now what to ask for. As long as they don't turn the AC off where I'm presenting, that should be just what I need. Now I know I'm not totally off my rocker.

I have a short and long story, and the long story would bore everyone, so the short story is what I stick to unless I think some background is needed.

I hope this helps others as much as it helps me.
