I do not have a video camera although i do have a Samsung VCR330
http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/EM/200603/20060329170551109/EN/main.html
and I want to copy from the VCR to the 8500 for editing purposes.
I have recorded some TV documentaries or favorite weekly shows but those are on individual DVD disks. I want to stitch for example a four part one hour each documentary onto one or two single double layer disks rather then having 4 DVD's that have to be loaded separately.
Looking at the back side of my 8500 it appears that i can cable the 8500 to the VCR330 to record the playback from the VCR330 to the 8500 via FireWire external harddrive.
(My 8500 has been supersized with USB/Firewire ports and a Sonnet G3 processor card. It needs some more RAM which i may add if this project for recording video is doable. The 8500 has two internal hard drives and on one of the drives it has been tricked to run TIGER ( XPostfacto ). The other original drive is reserved for OS 9. )
Suggestions/Comments/Help please.
