PowerPC Consolidation

I am in the process of selling off my iMacs, and older G4 Towers, and I am going to be putting together a single PowerPC Machine that will serve me and my BF nicely. The base platform is a Dual 1.0GHz Quicksilver. Going to load it up with RAM, and put two 120GB HDDs in it: I plan to buy these HDDs from eBay as new in box old stock items. One drive Mac OS 9, the other will have Tiger. I am going to replace the optical drive with a new old stock Pioneer IDE DVD RW, and I am going to put a ZIP 750 in it. Cards will be as follows: A Sonnet USB / Firewire card, and a flashed Radeon 9200 with VGA, S-Video, and DVI. no ADC cards, the ADC CRTs are too rare, heavy, and expensive, and the LCDs are not bright enough anymore. So the monitor will be a Gateway Vivitron 17 recently acquired from Facebook Marketplace. External Peripherals will include a NOS SuperDisk drive. One thing I am missing that I could not find on eBay is a faceplate for a quick silver Zip drive. currently the plan is to keep an eye out for one and just live with the "hole" in the front, but I would really like to know if anyone here has one they'd be willing to part with. Also, any suggestions on how to integrate this into my home network would be appreciated. For example, I still use a Wireless - AC Time Capsule and I share a USB Brother Laser from that. It would be nice if I could print from OS 9, and also be able to access the NAS part of my time capsule from OS 9.

So the G4 Arrived last night. I opened it up and set it up, and the internal speaker sounds like crap. like it's blown or something. Is there any way of fixing this? Where do I get a replacement speaker, eBay has none.

G4 quicksilver speaker? you want part number 922-4560. there's an ebay listing...

did you actually search for it or did you ask AI to think for you again?

and holy crap please use paragraphs in your posts... they're basically unreadable

did you see how damaged that speaker is? its worse than mine... thanks for the part number though. im looking for a mint condition NOS replacement.

Those speakers were terrible from the get go and it was real common for kids to poke holes in them... common enough that you could get a guard for it. If I was in the market for a QS, I'd be happy with one that has an intact speaker for appearance only.

Rest of your plan sounds great, QS G4's are my all time favorite OS9 capable machine.

A singe G4 is great until it breaks, and you have nothing to use. You don't need to be a hoarder, but I recommend having 2 machines of the same model just for a backup.

Noted. I have sourced a power supply converter cable so I can use an ATX Power Supply in it, as I imagine at some point the unit inside will die. I also do have a digital audio G4 which is very similar to the QS. What I need now is a perfect speaker, and more importantly, a Zip drive bezel

It is.

The Digital Audio is basically a QS with slower CPU options and graphite plastics that resemble the Yikes (B&W G3 with a G4 and no ADB), Sawtooth (improved Yikes with a proper G4-centric architecture, bootable Firewire ports (if I'm not mistaken, neither the B&W G3 nor the Yikes G4 can boot via Firewire, nor do they support FW Target Disk Mode) and faster AGP-based graphics) and GigE (improved Sawtooth with official dual processor support and faster onboard ethernet).

You know I’m half tempted to get a digital audio that’s doa just for the case and swap all the parts into it. I think it looks better and speakers for the DA are easier to find.
