68 pin Fast Scsi2 in an SE?

Do I just get a 68 to 50 converter cable/board and connect to the internal 50 pin connection?

I would set the termination jumper on the drive.

Would this work?

It works for me with my 4.5GB IBM hard drive (which is 68-pin). The converter connects to the 68-pin on the hard drive, and then you plug the 50 pin ribbon cable to the converter board. Enable termination on the drive, auto-start, and disable unit attention. Works fantastic for me, and the 7,200 RPM IBM is so much faster than the old 40meg quantum. Just for the record, I have a DCHS 04U.

Awesome thanks for the response. I found a couple 4.3gb western digital enterprise drives so I just need the converter (and to set the jumpers). I would have never figured out the autostart.

The drive has a jumper on 'TRGT unit'. Should I leave that one on?

Not sure off the top of my head what that jumper does. I would assume that 'TRGT' is shortened version of 'target'. If you send me the HDD manual, I should be able to at least offer my best guess at what it does. I personally bought this adapter, but you can purchase what ever adaptor you want: http://www.ebay.com/itm/322375474032
