2MB Sony Eject Gear for Sanwa Motor

After having a broken gear for the above eject motor and not able to find a gear for it, I set out to make my own. First CAD design and first endeavor into 3D printing as I just received my Anycubic Photon Mono 4K. A fellow member of @mitchkramez stepped in to help with the details as I am new to CAD. After a few days of emails and samples, we are releasing the gear STL file for the benefit of the community. Here is the file and some pictures of the gear. Anyone wanting to make modifications, contact me and will send the source files as I used freeCAD and @mitchkramez used Fusion360. I used the tough resign and the only setting I changed on ChituBox is the exposure time to 3.5. As I said, I am new to CAD and 3D printing so I open this up to input from the experts.

Ooo, very nice. Hopefully the CAD software you used had a dedicated gear section. Gears are pretty special to make sure they align correctly.

I'm hoping my workplace will get a resin printer at some point.

I used freeCAD and yes it has a gear function to make it. Also has an add-on that can be added to make even more gears. I printed 40 of them today.
 
Awesome. How about a clear resin lid for the gear housing so you can see the gears moving? :)
Would be nice but when installed in the drive you would never see that as the floppy metal frame blocks it all. Would only be usable if you are testing the eject motor outside of the floppy to see it spin. I was thinking about the entire black part of the eject motor that is plastic but I would only try that with a junk motor which I don’t have and I need to learn freeCAD more and get my filament printer.
 
Apple external drive might be small enough to print a replacement clear enclosure. 🤔 Then you could see 'em turning. :D
 
Just a quick note based on my Sanwa cleaning experience: the (excellent) videos online covering the Omron eject motor will lead you astray regarding the direction of the "lobe" that indicates the stop of travel. The Omron motors open a circuit, while the Sanwa motors close one. Thus the lobe must be pointing the same direction as the metal pin on the large external gear, not the opposite direction.

(Those familiar with Sanwa please feel free to confirm or correct...)
