It fits, but it’s very loose even with the holder - I had to use some hot glue. The meowtoast concept is really nice, but it could use some tweaking so that its fits in more snugly.
I wonder if there are some variations in the battery holder, mine's pretty secure with the clip in place.

I got confused by the advice from @reddrag0n as I didn’t realise there was a different version made by siliconinsider. The meowtoasts definitely don’t lay flat.
You have Silicon Insider product vs MeowToast so laying flat is correct for the Silicon Insider holders. I have both and they are different.

I suspect not. On the II and IIx, I'd be more tempted to mount two AAA battery holders to the case and run some lithium AAA batteries.
It’s tight but it did fit in my mac II side by side.

Check their tindie shop, I think there is another version designed for that.
