Oh nice @KennyPowers you picked that listing up? Seems this might be straightforward to clone. Any chance it physically fits with two cards in an LC with case closed?
Welp spent all evening on it, couldn’t figure it out. I guess didn’t have the right combo of software/drivers to get it to work, so I’m going to sell it locally in SF Bay Area.
Ah I think the RasterOps cable I got works (FYI for anyone in the future trying to determine if a RasterOps DA15 <> 13W3 cable works with Portrait Display), as the main issue with 13w3 is just making sure you're not getting the Sun version which is wired differently. This cable also included a...
Just acquired a Macintosh Portrait Display that was going to be recycled, and made a leap of faith picking up a RasterOps 13W3 -> DA15 cable hoping that would suffice. Turns out everything works, I think. Without the cable plugged in it showed no picture, but once plugged in I got the garbled...

ESProFile seems the way to go for widget drive replacement, I can send you one if you like as I had a few extra made. DM me your address!
RIFA caps in the power supply are likely to go (and stink when they do), mine did after about 15 minutes of it being on post-rescue. Video board caps are also recommended to change but I don't think it'll break anything. I'm not well versed yet in the Lisa, maybe lisalist is the place to ask...
Sounds like a great find, new in box!!
My Lisa 2/10 won't turn off from the power button either, I don't know why. I'm not sure whats up with that, I even got the power supply & video board recapped, as both often need recapping. It's my first Lisa as well so still learning.
Care to share some...
Whoah great job, another one lives! I've a 3500/Kanga that was on its last legs and kicked the bucket recently, I'm guessing it looks a lot like this on the inside.
First, big thanks @lauland1 for putting in the effort to build this, this SDL2 port is really useful and a real gift to the community. 🙏
One thing I've noticed being in the classic Mac world for the past dozen years is interest is spread out over longer periods of time, and you never know when...
Yikes thanks @cheesestraws, will check to see if it boots next time I'm with the machine. Looks like they're in abundant supply thankfully
Thanks @Unknown_K just went to archive and grabbed it! I have to figure out what to do with this VAIO machine, it's a complete system w keyboard and monitor...
I have two Micromac ones that are slightly different. I'd like to hold onto these for my own builds but if @Bolle or anyone wants to pick at them for reverse engineering efforts I'm happy to oblige!
The first came with a Diimo 030 for IIsi. Red lettered GAL16V8B 10LP (presumably 10ns) B316D08...
Ah ok it is a 512k upgrade, probably why the ram chips are socketed. Impossible to find the data sheets on the ram chips unfortunately. Quoting you @Unknown_K from this thread in VCEF in 2018:
Just pulled out my other 128k and yeah the original looks different.
Another garage find: Original Mac 128k in great condition. Trying to figure out what the mod is on it with the 74F253 chip, or if that is stock. Serial decode:
Manufactured in: F => Fremont, California, USA
Year of production: 1984
Week of production: 38
Production number: 17W => 1424
Model ID...
Oh a VFD would be ideal! ELs are also quite hard to find unfortunately. Agree 640 is the upper limit on 9" size, I was thinking more being able to switch between 512x342 -> 640x480 based on different games/etc, but maybe the realistic use of that is minimal. Your LCD looks great!
New screen...
Thanks for the info! The screen I'm thinking about is from the Daylight tablet I worked on which is a 10.5" paper-like grayscale 60hz screen. Marrying that to a b&w compact Mac would be awesome. Kinda hard to tell in the video but it looks pretty cool running mini vMac and is unlike other screen...
Three weird questions I'm curious about:
1. Possiblilty of LVDS/eDP support to use another type of panel?
2. Possibility of shoving a slight larger screen (e.g. 10.5", 1600x1200) and cropping it to 8.4" size (1280x960 aka 640x480 pixel doubled)? I think physically it'd fit, so more a question of...
@zigzagjoe one possible reason why MicroMac halved the FPU speed is they were cheaping out and using lower rated 68030/68882s. They put MicroMac stickers on top of them so you couldn't tell what they were actually rated for. My (non-SE30) Diimo has 40mhz versions that were older rev/steppings...
Update: Lisa video & power recapped, boots up great! Few notes here:
1. Next is sort out getting the picture rotated and centered which I think means messing with the yoke. Screwing the pots around only makes it wobbly.
2. Unfortunately when switching the aftermarket Mac/Lisa switch over to...
