Feeling lazy tonight lol.. so picked up a iisi logic with rom simm slot. It has rom on board as well. It is recapped, nothing major that i could see. It turns on, chimes and then gets death chimes. Screen comes on for a second when first turned on, then nothing, stays black. On a side note...

So picked up a pretty nasty 2300c. It turns on, chimes, screen comes on, but then chimes of death shortly after. Any ideas? This is the screen. I recapped the logic. Yes screen is toast unfortunately but still can see whats going on. Thanks for any input

Hmmm, well not taking the cover off to check lol.. these covers are awful. I now have the 8100 ,8500, 840av, q800 and the 9500…love the look, but the cases are nasty to open. Especially with brittle plastics.

I only have an led from a 7600. The connector is the same but it doesn’t light up when 8100 is powered on. I have two 8100 boards and same thing. Anyone with a wiring diagram for the connector?

When i recapped it i noticed a resistor that had looked warm at the solder joints. I reflowed the solder but inadvertently broke the trace. After trying and it was dead I checked all my work and that resistor and noticed it moved a little when touched so checked continuity and sure enough the...

Picked up an 8100 case with supposedly working psu. Item arrived no power. So thought well why not recap it, it definitely will need it. Still nothing.. sucks that it was sold as working. Any suggestions?

Lol i just did that. The hard drive is the issue. So will reformat and see. Its a lacie drive wont use apple drivers.

Have a Powermac 7600 that i restored. It randonly freezes and every time i restart it the raster comes up with mouse but mouse is frozen. Then it just stays like that. I have 188 megs of ram in it. Just wondering if ram would cause this kind of weirdness? Going to try going barebones tonight...

I had tons of issues with my iicx and startup. Had one broken trace and had to pull all hc74 or whatever they were and clean pads etc. iici can be nasty too.

Yeah i have had a few bad 61/71/8100 boards that stayed dead or did the exact as what you said above. I do believe the 601 is the main issue. The board i have was known working and then he tried to recap it. He also pulled heat sink off and possibly he affected the 601?? Too bad i guess. I...

Well, she turns on, but no chime or display of any kind, so either something isnt connected, or he butchered it elsewhere unfortunately. Does it need to be in a case to work? Grounding properly?

Acquired a board from a friend who had some caps and pads come off. He sent board up to me and i fixed everything except one 47uf cap. It attaches to one via but there is another one on the other side of pad which may or may not have been attached to pad as well. Dont have a board to compare...
