I've been thinking of adding a similar list to my site similar to my page on modern storage options. I also need to update my list of accelerators to include the "modern" versions create by @Bolle and others.
For boot order, I believe it is the internal floppy first, then the external floppy, then SCSI devices in ascending SCSI ID order.
For making a boot floppy, you use the OS. You initialize the floppy and then copy the system file from the system folder on to the disk.
You can also use a modern...
You are understanding it correctly for the SE/30 with only an internal device attached. The internal device needs to be terminated, but you do not need to have a terminator on the external connection.
I have some info on my site that covers how various Macintosh systems handle termination https://www.savagetaylor.com/about-us/macintosh-scsi-hard-drive-replacements/#what_is_scsi
Good to know. I will be trying this in my LC475 soon to see if I can get close to the 6MB/s theoretical max
"Note (1): The transfer rate of the 53C96 can reach 6MB/sec when using a fast hard drive, provided the cabling is capable of supporting that speed"
That is what I was hoping, that is great news. Now to find the time to experiment. Perhaps a later version of the Apple IIe emulator software added more support for network devices.
I have updated the list of accelerators on my site to group them by CPU, and to add photos. I'm hoping these changes will make it easier to identify unbranded boards.
I managed to find photos for a lot of the accelerators either online, or as photos in advertisements or reviews, but I'm still...
Has anyone experimented yet with SCSI ethernet + an Apple IIe card?
I was thinking of experimenting with the Apple IIe card's AppleShare Card feature that emulates an Apple IIe Workstation Card.
First, over a legacy wired LocalTalk connection from my LC475 + Apple IIe card to my LC 630 DOS...
Has anyone ever come across a Novy Quik40 board?
I'm updating the format of my list of accelerators to include photos and and I came across the note below at https://www.cs.uni.edu/~okane/input.txt
Ready for takeoff: '040 boards: accelerator manufacturers are about to release '040 accelerators...
You probably saw the reviews already on the internet archive. Are you planning to try it with with a network or video adapter?
"Requires: Mac SE Pros: Great low-cost alternative Requires no additional memory. Allows fall use of memory on the motherboard and full compatibility with all programs...
I updated the footnote on my Apple IIe card page to reference this thread.
If you can, you should see if you can use the Asante Tech ethernet card to emulate an Apple IIe Workstation card.
One think I want to experiment with on my LC 475, with Apple IIe card and Asante EN/SC, is running a server...

"The Apple IIe Card does not work in multiple card environments. Because of this, the Apple IIe Card will not work when there is any device in the comm slot on the Macintosh LC 575."
So if @qubitz got it working, perhaps the incompatibility was fixed?
I've used my MacSD as my internal drive, and the blue SCSI as an external drive on my LC 475. As long as the SCSI ids don't conflict there isn't any issue
