Yeah, it is now working properly. It has no PRAM battery, but it turns on normally now that it has been plugged in for a while. I am going to recap the a/b and m/b when I get a chance. Also need to calibrate the CRT because the bottom right quadrant is darker than the rest and the size of the...
that is an awesome find bro!!! I am really enjoying the accelerator board! You should definitely save those the control panel/extension for the accelerator ASAP as rickrob mentioned! :D
I had a similar thing happen today, something with the case was either putting pressure on the analog board or something else that needs repair and the CRT wouldnt power up, but as soon as I removed the back case, it powered on properly. After a few times taking the back off and carefully...
LOL bro you are confusing two different threads. I haven't modded this one yet, theres another 68k'er on here who just posted about his resolution mod that I believe you are referring to.
I am planning on recapping the motherboard for sure. The analog board probably needs it more, but I have...
probably both, I kept tinkering with it though and now its back together working fine. I took the fan out of the back case and held it up to the connections while the back case was off and it powered up no problem without disturbing the CRT so it wasnt the fan, I think the case was just messing...
interesting, I got the Color Classic working, but I just tried to put the case back together and when the back case is on the CRT will not power up correctly, but as soon as I pull the case slightly off (so the fan isnt connected) the screen turns back on. Maybe the power supply is getting...
Indeed I will, anyone selling a 575 board?
Also the screen has a few imperfections in it, namely a slightly darker area in the bottom right quadrant of the screen. Waves a little when I tap on the front of the case.
Trying to figure out of this techstep works with the CC but I dont think it...
Ok, so came into the shop this morning after leaving the CC plugged in all night. Fired right up! Has this non-power up until plugged in for a few hours problem been identified? I would love to recap the analog board, ill need to find an AB recap kit, whose got one! :D
Today I received a Color Classic and an Apple Techstep Diagnostic Tool! Only had time to tinker with them for a little while.
The color classic only makes a slight power sound when plugged in, but couldnt get it to do anything else. I removed the motherboard and except for a slight clicking...
if it shows the "X" that means it is reading the disc, but you cannot boot from it. You need to find a boot disk that works I believe. As far as it not ejecting, I am not sure about that.
Yeah, you are right! Another thing I noticed (before the capacitor blew up in the first Plus) was that the brightness knob made the screen flicker and pulse, I had to have the dial set just right for it to stay still... So not only that capacitor needs to be replaced, but I need to check...
Here is a picture of the Plus w/box that I received not too long ago. The box is in great condition, looks fantastic! And the front case on the Plus is in really good condition, the back part is more yellow, but just a tiny bit.. The mouse looks very yellow but the keyboard seems to have done...
Thanks for the tip about the dip switches. I had switch 1-2 in the ON position but it still wouldn't boot from the HDD. But as soon as I flipped the last switch on (termination) it booted instantly! Thank you for your help bro!
I was hoping someone would say that!!! That's actually what I was thinking when I named the thread haha.. I was going to put *URKEL VOICE* but decided against... hahaha glad you got it bro
