color classic chirping and wont boot

Hi.  I got a color classic the other day and I did the vga mod to it and put my lc575 motherboard inside of it.  I booted it and it looked perfect.  Well perfect after I adjusted the horizontal sync.  I rebooted a few times and made sure everything was fine.  So I thought I was done and tried putting on the back of the case.  It felt a little flaky as I put the fan into place.  I closed it and turned it on.   the mac makes a few high pitched chirps, and then does nothing.  I havent taken it apart yet to see if the mods got damaged.

Did I break my little classic?

Something shorted.

Any time you doing stressful mods to these ancient beasts, your bound to break some weak components simply from stress.

My advice is not to mod anything before you recap the analog board.

But i feel that might be a bit too late, as something most likely shorted. maybe the horizontal output. or something along those lines.

I had a similar thing happen today, something with the case was either putting pressure on the analog board or something else that needs repair and the CRT wouldnt power up, but as soon as I removed the back case, it powered on properly.  After a few times taking the back off and carefully putting it back on, I got it together just right and now it works good.  But obviously needs an analog/mobo recap. You should take the case off and power it on that way, see what happens.
